BRIEF DETAILS ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:

The observation of “World Water Day 2026, was organized and observed by The Institution of Engineers (India), Manipur State Centre, on Sunday, 22nd March 2026, at the Seminar Hall, Govt. Polytechnic Campus, Takyel, Imphal of the State Centre.

The programme was organized under the theme “Water and Gender. The event aimed to highlight the vital role of engineering in achieving sustainable development through modern technological advancements and innovative practices.

Er. Ng. Basantakumar Singh, MIE, Controller of Technical Education (Retd.), Govt. of Manipur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and shared valuable insights on sustainable water practices and policy implementation.

Shri Ng. Sanajaoba Meitei, Project Director (Retd.), LDA, Govt. of Manipur, delivered the theme address, emphasizing the need for community participation and inclusive policies in water resource management.

The programme was presided over by Er. Soibam Tampha Singh, FIE, Chairman, IEI MSC, who highlighted the role of engineers in addressing water-related challenges and promoting sustainable development.

The master of ceremony was Er. Langpoklakpam Denin Singh, AMIE, Joint Hony. Secretary, IEI MSC.

The event witnessed the participation of engineers, academicians, and students, making it a meaningful and informative occasion dedicated to it informative and impactful.
